Want to host a virtual event?
Most events can be hosted via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Skype. There are differences between these platforms and Pitt Information Technology compares each option.
Once you have chosen a platform for your event, pick a date and time. Submit all of the details of your event so that it is posted on the University events calendar. Find a publisher and if you don’t see a relevant publisher, you may submit your event for posting. A committee of faculty, staff and students are reviewing events and yours may be featured on the Pittwire Live home page.
The focus of Pittwire Live is on live events. However, you can also record an event for posting to your department’s social media. You MUST announce that you are recording and that the recording may be posted on YouTube. Please pause after this announcement to allow those who are not interested in being recorded to leave the session.

Want to attend an event?
The best place to start is to search the University events calendar for an event that suits your interest. There are a variety of events and more go live each day, so check back often. The event description should contain a link for you to click on to virtually join when the event begins.
If you require accommodations for a disability while viewing a virtual event, please contact Disability Resources and Services.
It's best to download software in advance of each event and test your device settings for audio and video.
